If you wish to work as a market stall trader in the UK, you will need to take a DBS check to obtain a licence to trade.
DBS checks are statutory criminal record checks. There are four types of DBS checks in operation in the UK:
- Basic DBS
- Standard DBS
- Enhanced DBS
- Enhanced DBS with barring lists
Your local council will need you to undergo a basic DBS check. A basic DBS check for a market stall trader will cover any unspent criminal convictions or conditional cautions.
To obtain the DBS certificate you will need to show the council, you will need to fill in a DBS application form. You can apply for the basic DBS check for a market stall trader yourself or the council can give you the form to complete.
Once the DBS have carried out the check, they will send you your DBS in the post and online. Any details found during the search will be listed in the DBS certificate.
Complete your basic DBS application online today or call us on 0333 030 0446 for support with any aspect of your basic DBS check.
