DBS Check Radio Broadcaster | Radio Broadcaster DBS Check | DBS & CRB Check for Radio Broadcasters

Radio broadcasters in the UK can expect to be asked to undergo a basic DBS check. A basic DBS check is carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service and involves a search to see if you have any unspent criminal convictions or conditional cautions.

There are four types of DBS checks in operation in the UK:

  • a basic DBS check
  • a standard DBS check
  • an enhanced DBS check
  • an enhanced DBS check with barring lists

Each check requires a different depth of search. The 1974 Rehabilitation of Offenders sets out the degree of CRB check needed for each frontline role included in the act.

A DBS check for a radio broadcaster falls into the first level of DBS checks so you will only need a basic DBS check.

A basic DBS check for a radio broadcaster will involve a search for any unspent criminal convictions or conditional cautions. Spent convictions will not be included in this type of DBS check.
